“It turns out, the crucifix was originally designed by a Jesuit activist, the Rev. Luis Espinal, who was assassinated in 1980 by suspected paramilitaries during the months that preceded a military coup. Francis, a fellow Jesuit, stopped his motorcade to pray at the site where Espinal's body had been dumped. (AP) “The Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, said Thursday the pope had no idea that Espinal had designed the crucifix and was surprised to receive it — a reaction clearly visible in the footage of the encounter. Some reports suggested the pope told Morales "This isn't good;" one of Francis' friends sent a tweet quoting him as saying such. But Lombardi said it wasn't known what the pope had said.”What with all the necessary translations from Italian to English, leftists celebrating their anti-free market capitalism and global warming/climate change activism with him, it’s never known what this pope is actually saying. But that Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi admits that it wasn’t known what the pope had said upon presentation of the Morales’ ‘gift’ should at least come as a hint that the Vatican needs more knowledgeable spokesmen.
“Lombardi said Espinal had designed the crucifix as a symbol of dialogue and commitment to freedom and progress for Bolivia, not with any specific ideology in mind. Lombardi said he personally wasn't offended by it.” (AP)Fr. Lombardi has every right to be not “personally offended” by the communist crucifix, just as all faithful Christians have the right to find it insensitively offensive.
"You can dispute the significance and use of the symbol now, but the origin is from Espinal and the sense of it was about an open dialogue, not about a specific ideology," Lombardi said.” (AP)There’s an ocean wide difference between dialogue and ideology, making it impossible to morph ideology into dialogue. The acute among the masses are already seeing the danger of changing dialogue in the Obama administration where Democrats, on a roll since legalizing same sex marriage in all 50 states, are now declaring war on the words ‘husband’ and ‘wife’. (Washington Examiner, July 9, 2015)
“More than two dozen Democrats have proposed legislation that would eliminate the words "husband" and "wife" from federal law. “Those "gendered terms" would be replaced by "gender-neutral" words like "spouse" or "married couple," according to the bill from Rep. Lois Capps, D-Calif. "The Amend the Code for Marriage Equality Act recognizes that the words in our laws have meaning and can continue to reflect prejudice and discrimination even when rendered null by our highest courts," Capps said. "Our values as a country are reflected in our laws. I authored this bill because it is imperative that our federal code reflect the equality of all marriages." ‘The Supreme Court ruled in June that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution means all states have to license same-sex marriages, a ruling that effectively ended the same-sex marriage debate in America. Capps said her bill was aimed at taking the next step, which is to ensure the United States Code "reflects the equality of all marriages."Meanwhile, the communist crucifix may be acceptable to Bolivia and the Vatican but will NEVER be accepted by the masses of the faithful. There is only one sure-fire way around the demoralization brought on by the Marxists changing the lexicon where ideology morphs into dialogue and that is the continued fervent prayers of the masses. Some Catholics never thought the words of the St. Michael the Archangel prayer...”cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls” would someday include the Vatican.
