QUEEN’S PARK — Today, Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak said only in Dalton McGuinty’s Ontario do the architects of the billion-dollar eHealth boondoggle get rewarded with merit pay and bonuses. Hudak warned Dalton McGuinty will raise taxes to pay for his sweetheart deals like these. He even admitted it yesterday.
It was revealed today that Dalton McGuinty rewarded more than 600 employees at the scandal plagued eHealth with 1.9 percent merit pay wage hikes and rich bonuses averaging 7.8 percent – despite wasting over $1 billion in the Liberal eHealth boondoggle. It’s the latest failure of Dalton McGuinty’s fictional public sector wage freeze he promised Ontario families.
When asked by the media yesterday if he plans to raise taxes, Dalton McGuinty replied “I will promise to keep doing what we’ve been doing.” It’s clear, Dalton McGuinty has every intention of continuing to hand out sweetheart deals and then raise taxes to pay for them.
