When, in the past, our country has used military action against another country, there have almost always been negative comments regarding the US doing so issued by or on behalf of other people and or their governments. However, following the US attack on June 22 of this year against the sites where Iran was in the process of developing the equipment required for the production of nuclear materials, this author has heard or read none of such comments from around the world.
Assuming that to be correct, does that mean that the world was, in effect, relieved that, at least for the present and foreseeable future, that Iran was not going to become a nuclear power? That, also in the author’s opinion, is precisely the case. The world likely breathed a sigh of relief.
With Iran under the control of the Ayatollahs: Khomeini and his successor Khamenei since 1989, thousands of Iranians, especially those who opposed his rule, have been killed or imprisoned. Khamenei, currently in charge of Iran and poses a threat, not only to Iranians, but to others in the area. With nuclear weapons Iran, could well have become a threat to the world. President Trump’s decision to eliminate Iran’s nuclear materials production facilities certainly appears to have been met favorably worldwide.
Had the Iranian nuclear facilities been allowed to actually reach a point where weapons grade Uranium could have been produced by them, the potential possibilities of a nuclear armed Iran under Khamenei’s control would definitely have become a threat and a very dangerous one. It is now time for someone besides the US to take the next step and eliminate the current Iranian government.
Prior to the takeover of Iran in the late 1970s, that country was probably one of the freest in that part of the world. Unfortunately, that changed but now it is high time for the Iranians to change it back. The Ayatollahs that have been running Iran for over forty years have directly caused thousands of deaths of their own people during that time. As such, they need to be removed from power and held accountable for having done so.
