“Sharyn Alfonsi from CBS News’ “60 Minutes” asked Gillibrand, who for years was a beneficiary of the Clintons' support, whether she has been in communication with the Clintons. "Well, I don't want to talk about that, but, I can tell you one thing … Hillary Clinton is still my greatest role model in politics," Gillibrand said. “Gillibrand came under fire in November, from a former Clinton adviser among others, after she responded, “Yes, I think that is the appropriate response,” when the New York Times asked if Bill Clinton should have resigned after his affair came to light in the 1990s while he was president.
“Clinton was impeached by the House over charges related to the Lewinsky scandal cover-up, but was acquitted by the Senate in 1999. “Gillibrand also spoke to Alfonsi about former Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., who resigned recently amid allegations of sexual harassment. “Alfonsi asked Gillibrand, the first senator to urge Franken to resign, why she was vocal about the allegations before the investigation had revealed full details. “Where’s my moral compass if I can’t speak out just because I like someone?” Gillibrand said. “Just because they’re my friend? It’s okay to be a harasser as long as you’re my friend? That’s not OK.” “He’s entitled to as much due process as he wants,” she added. “He doesn’t ever have to resign. That’s his choice. And my choice is to speak out.”
"We're obligated to have hearings," she said. “Ingraham said Gillibrand's comments were in response to previous claims of sexual misconduct against the president, and that they came during the resignation of a top aide over domestic violence claims. "Gillibrand has fully weaponized the #MeToo hashtag movement... with the intention of driving the female vote in the midterms, and ultimately sweeping herself into the Oval Office [in 2020]," she said. “Ingraham wondered aloud whether Gillibrand, whom then-Gov. David Paterson (D-N.Y.) nominated to replace Hillary Clinton, plans to give back all of the money President Bill Clinton donated to her. "I haven't followed that, but I doubt it," she remarked. “Ingraham warned that Gillibrand's plans may be working a little bit thus far, with Trump losing some popularity among women. “She pointed to Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) premonition that Democrats would "crawl over broken glass to vote in the midterms." "If Gillibrand had her way, most of those [voters] would be women," she said.
“Like pretty much every Democrat, there was a time when New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand loved to tell people how she was pro-Second Amendment and hawkish on immigration. You've heard most of her old lines from any one of a hundred leftists - all of which you probably knew were lying. She prattled on about her family's history of hunting, yakked about how we needed a stronger border, and generally parroted the conservative-lite line. (Canada Free Press, Feb. 13, 2018) “You heard some version of this from Obama, Kerry, Gore, Clinton, and a thousand other left-wing Senators and Representatives. “Then, they get elected and everything changes. Suddenly, the guns that are so beloved by their family become the problem and illegals transform into law-abiding "undocumented citizens" who've committed no crimes whatsoever. “She's done a 180 on virtually all her old positions, and the reason is ridiculous. Apparently, everyone she used to know was white. That made it really hard to understand pesky things like "constitutionality" and “laws." “As she told 60 Minutes, she's learned all about her latent racism since she took office - and it's really opened her eyes about her former beliefs….Gillibrand is the 1 in a hundred back-benchers getting ready to fly straight over the cuckoo nest. She’s the senator who’ll take the political world from HildaBeast to GilliBeast proving that in the entitled-to-govern Democrat world, the more life changes the more it stays the same.
