The Environmental Protection Agency is at it again, waging war on middle and lower income Americans.
The agency has imposed severe restrictions on the emissions from wood burning stoves. The new restrictions will kill the production of 80% of the wood burning stoves currently on the market.
With the restrictions on coal mining, the denial of new nuclear plants, and the steep increase in the cost of heating oil, the use of wood burning stoves has increased 34% in recent years. A large portion of our population need a source of heat for part of each year. This year the numbers probably skyrocketed with the winter being exceptionally long, considerably colder and stretching deep into the south.
People using wood as a source of heat are doing so for one reason only, it is the cheapest way to keep warm. It is by far the hardest. Wood has to be cut, piled, covered and the furnaces or stoves must be feed around the clock. It is messy, it is hard and it isn't even consistent heat. You'll be hot near the stove and cold in the areas away from it. Few (if any) are burning wood for the joy of it. At least not for long.
This is another assault on poor Americans. Nothing more.`
