Over the next 48 hours, you’ll hear the words “essential” and “nonessential” with regards to vulnerable federal employees and the looming government shutdown.
Nonessential and out of touch, could government workers cope with losing their PDAs? Federal Workers Brace for Email Withdrawal While the federal government refers to them as “excepted” and “non-excepted”, my question is this: if there are around 800,000-plus employees the media considers nonessential and our government can technically function just fine without them, why are we wasting money retaining them in the first place?
