Gold Star Distribution — a major Minnesota wholesaler supplying dozens of grocery stores statewide — has been exposed by federal inspectors for operating in severe, ongoing sanitary violations.

FDA inspection reports describe:

• Rodent feces and urine throughout the facility

• Bird droppings directly on pallets and packaging

• Contaminated storage areas holding everyday items like peanut butter, snacks, OTC medications, hygiene products, and pet food

This wasn’t a one-time lapse.

The same warehouse was cited back in 2018 for significant rodent activity — and it stayed open anyway.

Now nearly 2,000 products are under recall due to Salmonella and leptospirosis risks — illnesses that can seriously harm children, seniors, and immune-compromised people.
