Only the third time in the last 40 years that benefits have not increased
Fuzzy math and Social Security
Funny, isn't it? Our Social Security won't see an increase in 2016 because gas prices are down. As I recall, when the prices went up, we didn't get increases to cover the cut in spendable cash we experienced.
And, it seems very unfair that the increases in Medicare premiums, housing, food, electricity and drugs do not justify a cost of living increase. Only fuzzy math allows the government to hurt seniors in this manner.
This will be only the third time in the last 40 years that benefits have not increased. All 3 times under President Obama.
And we tolerate the abuse. It has never been more important to speak up, to contact your representatives and to vote. Only if every legal citizen shows up at the polls do we stand a chance to reverse the trends that are punitive to Americans who made this Country great.
