“Here is how he ended his speech: “As long as we’ve got to fight to make sure women have access to quality, affordable health care, and as long as we’ve got to fight to protect a woman’s right to make her own choices about her own health, I want you to know that you’ve also got a president who’s going to be right there with you, fighting every step of the way,” said Obama. “Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you.”
“In that meeting, the pope gave Mr. Obama two medallions, including one that symbolized solidarity and peace between Northern and Southern hemispheres and a copy of “Evangelii Gaudium” or “The Joy of the Gospel”, the apostolic exhortation that Pope Francis released in November 2013 in his call for a new era of evangelism and for a renewed focus on the poor. “Mr. Obama presented Pope Francis with a custom-made seed chest featuring a variety of fruit and vegetable seeds used in the White House Garden. The box was made from reclaimed wood from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Baltimore.”The seeds in the pair’s well-touted “shared values”, it seems had already been planted in the pontiff’s heart. The pope’s imminent trip to America, touted as the end all and be all, is taking on circus-like dimensions, protocol notwithstanding. “More than 1.5 million people are expected for the Mass with Pope Francis in Philadelphia this September, said organisers of the next World Meeting of Families. (Catholic Herald, July 26, 2015)
“Besides the papal Mass on September 27, which will close the World Meeting of Families, the Pope is also expected to be at the Festival of Families on September 26. Organisers are expecting about 750,000 people for the festival, held on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway; it will include performances by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, Colombian pop star Juanes and the Philadelphia Orchestra. “Underlining the ecumenical and interfaith element of the meeting, Archbishop Chaput said 30 per cent of the speakers would be non-Catholic. “In response to a reporter’s question, Bishop McIntyre said one session was planned on families with homosexual members; a man with same-sex attraction will speak and so will his mother.”The Pope’s visit to America gives a hint of what is coming in October’s synod.:
“Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, president of the Pontifical Council for the Family, linked the World Meeting of Families with the working document of the Synod of Bishops on the family in October. He described the congress as an “expression of the synodal Church that Pope Francis wants”. “He also said the congress was a “precious opportunity to put families at the centre of the Church and of the world”. “He told reporters that recent research on the family and its importance for society will be presented at the congress."Protocol is protocol but the papal visit will add fuel to Obama’s raging anti-Christian fire. Narcissistic Obama will first preen, then gloat. When the pope is here he will do anything and everything to demoralize Catholic Americans. The United Nations will use Pope Francis’ visit to drive home their political agenda, the UN being all about politics and not about humanity. It’s not saving the environment but saving our babies for which Pope Francis and the Vatican should be leading the crusade. Perception is everything and Francis, by his official visit, is paying homage to the world’s most infamous champion of partial birth abortion. Meanwhile God hears our prayers but Obama and sadder still, the pope, are deaf to them.
