The president taking advantage of grief

Gun control is not the answer, Obama

Once again the President rushed to judgment regarding the latest college shootings.

Before the actual numbers were even determined and long before the preliminary facts were investigated, he stepped to the microphone to call for more gun control. At that point we had no idea of the who (was it a lone shooter) or the why. It is offensive when the media -- and honestly, the President -- use situations like this to advance an agenda. The hours when families haven't even been notified yet, is not the time to take advantage of their grief. Controlling guns doesn't fix this problem. The statistics in Chicago prove that. We have a troubled population of young people and that will be much harder to fix. The President needed to recognize the problems facing our country long ago and address them, not use them to get his social engineering plans moved forward. I turned off the TV rather than listen to the President. I knew what he would say. And it ticks me off. Andy Bishop
