The Atlantica Party is crying foul over today's move by MLA Karen Casey to cross the floor to the Liberal Party. "Ms. Casey's decision to jump ship and join the Liberals is unfair to the people of Colchester North," says Atlantica Party leader Jonathan Dean. "Ms. Casey has been a Tory for decades, served as Tory Leader, and was elected as a Tory so her constituents deserve say. Without the ability to Recall her the people of Colchester North have no say."
The Atlantica Party supports giving constituents the option to recall their MLA between elections, triggering a by-election in the event that constituents no longer feel represented by their candidate.
More and more, conservatives are choosing to join the Atlantica Party. The Atlantica Party is Nova Scotia's only fiscally conservative party, and Nova Scotians who support low taxes, limited government and individual freedoms are beginning to choose the Atlantica Party as an alternative to the status quo.
