Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans, LA County Department of Public Works (DPW) finally removed the Screen Actors Guild banners that were hanging illegally and disgracefully amidst the Veterans Grand Old Flag Memorial.

The reason LA County has no money to re-install the American Flags is because of more government waste at the corner of Wilshire & Federal where the street lights are on in daylight hours. And why are all those ugly, distractive carnival flags hanging all across Wilshire and Federal in the Third District? How much did those ridiculous flags cost, who approved them, and why?

Hopefully, some adult will turn the lights off during the day and take down those goofy-looking flags ... and then go a few blocks west to San Vicente Boulevard and re-install the American Flags, just as DPW agreed to do in the trumped-up "AFTER THE FACT" permit.

All of this land ... Sepulveda Boulevard, 405 Freeway and Wilshire Boulevard ... belongs to Veterans and is part of the legal Deed of 1888. As though this land heist wasn't egregious enough, check out the attached article and how a homeless Veteran was evicted from this very property to make way for "progress." Next, under the iron-fisted, cold-hearted authority of the Third District Dictator (Supervisor), the DPW "plans" to take out the sidewalk and plaza corner where we have protested the misappropriation of Veterans property for 5 1/2 years to build a "bus only lane." These Banana Republic thugs plan on spending tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to add a bus lane on the south side of Wilshire Boulevard by maliciously removing the sidewalk where we protest on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard. Stay tuned, folks, because 2014 is going to get very, very, very interesting. Attend Sunday's 302nd Consecutive Sunday Rally to "Save Our Veterans Land" and to "Bring Our Homeless Veterans HOME." God Bless America and the Veterans Revolution!
