Memorial Day 2013 should be a duty call to keep Memorial Day and the fallen heroes and heroines it commemorates an American institution.
Ever since the day he was first elected, anti-military President Barack Hussein Obama has been on a path to rid America of its beloved armed forces. He has cut the military budget by billions, sought to diminish their capacity and shrink their numbers. Obama has worked to wipe out the influence of military chaplains; has reduced the benefits and pensions of the military, and in his last proposed budget tried to increase TRICARE fees and cap pay.
At the same time Obama is gutting the military, his Department of Homeland Security continues to portray returning vets as terrorists.
No one seems to have the answers why soldiers are being sent into danger by governments who dispatch them with rules of engagement that cost them life and limb.
No one seems to resolve why ‘progressives’ in D.C. employ propaganda courtesy of a complacent mainstream media that chips away at the image of the bravest of the brave, or why the regime now squatting on the White House seek to make Memorial Day and the fallen heroes it commemorates a faded out memory for upcoming generations.
Memory should provide no escape to the build-up for this year’s Memorial Day:
Two weeks ago on May 16, Obama used Marines as props by stopping his address in the Rose Garden and calling on two Marines to hold umbrellas over his head and that of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a light drizzle.
Three days ago on May 24, when Obama was headed to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, to speak at the Midshipmans‘ graduation ceremony where he was to make an address claiming al Qaeda was, thanks to him, no more, he did not return a Marine’s salute. Address delivered, he jogged back up the steps of Marine One, still not saluting.
One May 23, one day before the no-salute to Marines, which many saw as deliberate rather than involuntary, Obama tolerated multiple interruptions from the most recognized anti-war activist in America in a scenario that many say whose presence was nothing more than a plant.
Medea Benjamin, co-founder of anti-war Code Pink, was seated in the audience at National Defense University in Washington, D.C., where Obama was giving his speech, purportedly to call him out for drones and dragging his feet on the promised closing of the terrorist holding tank known as Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Of Benjamin, who travelled to Israel on the Gaza Flotilla in 2011, and who with other Code Pink members picketed the Berkeley Marine Corps recruitment center for most of 2008, Obama said: “The voice of that woman is worth paying attention to.”
Benjamin is co-founder of Code Pink with Jodie Evans, who in 2007, was a fundraising bundler for Obama raising some $50,000 for his 2008 election.
If Obama has his way, there will be no Memorial Day to commemorate fallen heroes and before he finishes his Fundamental Transformation of America, not even a U.S. military.
Start by making Memorial Day 2013 the one that stands out as the turning point that makes all Memorial Days to come worth honouring.
All in the Free World are only here because of the supreme sacrifice of the Fallen Heroes and Heroines.
It is Barack Obama and not the Day of Fallen Heroes and Heroines that should be forced to fade away.
