Michael Cohen Some news headlines are unintentionally funny, even hilarious: ‘Lanny Davis: Helsinki Was Turning Point for Cohen’ (Newsmax, Aug. 22, 2018) Like hell it was, Michael Cohen was “off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz” just waiting to jump into the tank with Robert Mueller III’s ‘special counsel’ where stardom awaited him.
Some of us could imagine seeing Dorothy, The Straw Man, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion dancing along the yellow brick road as they set off to see the Wizard of Oz.
“We're off to see the Wizard, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  We'll find he is a whiz of a Wiz! If ever a Wiz! there was.  If ever oh ever a Wiz! there was The Wizard of Oz is one because,  Because, because, because, because, because. “
People on the ropes and promising their chosen wizard mega publicity will say most anything. In Cohen’s case, it was once, “I’d take a bullet for him” (Trump). Yesterday it was, “I’m guilty!” Guilty, that is, of ‘fessing up that he was only following the instructions of Donald Trump in campaign finance violations and other misdeeds. Davis’ telling MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that “It was evolutionary” was as funny as when he got laughed at and booed by Megyn Kelly’s live television audience when he tried seeking donations for his client during his interview. “Davis appeared on NBC’s “Megyn Kelly Today” to discuss Cohen’s guilty plea on various federal charges and tried to lobby the audience for donations. Davis recently set up a GoFundMe page for the public to help pay Cohen’s legal bills despite the fact that Cohen is a millionaire. “Could I just take one opportunity to remind everyone that Michael Cohen has suffered a tragic and difficult experience with his family?” Davis pleaded. “He’s without resources and we’ve set up a website called ‘Michael Cohen Truth dot com’ that we’re hoping that he will get some help from the American people so he can continue to tell the truth.” “The audience burst into laughter at Davis’ desperate cry for help. “The audience … they don’t appear prepared to donate, Lanny,” Kelly told him.
But surely the funniest line of them all came when Davis told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Cohen was "worried about the future of our country" after he saw Trump at his Helsinki summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in July.
“He was shaken by seeing Trump aligning with the Russian president, even though "everybody in his intelligence community, including [Director of National Intelligence] Dan Coats" said Putin interfered to help Trump win the 2016 election, Davis said. (NewsMax) "Trump is the only one left denying that," said Davis. "That shook up Mr. Cohen.”

“Earlier events also affected Cohen, said Davis, noting that when he first was hired, "we talked about what caused him to change his mind from taking a bullet for Donald Trump in the statement he made to seriously worrying act his unsuitability as president after he became president.”
“He also agreed with show co-host Mika Brzezinski, who asked if Cohen is worried Trump will do something 'unbelievably idiotic" to deflect from the headlines. "Everybody in America who isn't a hardcore [who] doesn't care whether he lies...everybody else in America is worried about a president of the United States who acts recklessly, sometimes acts without the ability that you would want to have a president mentally and denies his own intelligence community's unanimous assessment, including Dan Coats and Mike Pompeo and everybody else that Putin interfered to help him get elected.”
Oh, Lanny, Lanny! Meanwhile, we will be spared from hearing much from Davis and Cohen over the next little while now that porn queen Stormy Daniels and her election-bound lawyer Michael Avenatti have reclaimed front page news. Besides, Cohen is off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz.
