As her family prepares to move out of that slave-built White House she's so ashamed of, once again she is not proud of her country.
Almost nine years ago while her husband was battling Hillary Clinton in the Democrats' presidential primary, Mrs. Obama was delighted that Barack Obama's insurgent candidacy was being taken seriously.
"For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback," she said Feb. 18, 2008 on the campaign trail in Milwaukee.
But now that her side lost she is angry and lashing out. Donald Trump won with an Electoral College landslide, 306 to 232. And when Texas electors formally cast their votes this afternoon, Trump was officially put over the top, exceeding the 270 votes required to win the presidency. Those 63 million Americans in 3,084 of the nation's 3,141 counties who cast their ballots for him apparently voted to murder hope.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey airing later tonight on CBS, Mrs. Obama darkly laments that the U.S. is entering a period of despair under Trump's leadership.
"We feel the difference now. See, now, we are feeling what not having hope feels like," she said in an obvious dig at President-elect Trump.
"Hope is necessary. It's a necessary concept," she continued. "And Barack didn't just talk about hope because he thought it was a nice slogan to get votes. He and I and so many believed that—what else do you have if you don't have hope? What do you give your kids if you can't give them hope?"
Mrs. Obama compared the relationship between her husband and the rest of the country to that of a parent and an injured child.
"Our children respond to crises the way they see us respond. You know, it's like the toddler that bumps his head on the table and they look up at you to figure out if it hurts," she said.
"I feel like Barack has been that for the nation in ways that people will come to appreciate. Having a grown-up in the White House who can say to you in times of crisis and turmoil, 'Hey, it's going to be okay. Let's remember the good things that we have."
Boo hoo.
But what hope did the Obama administration provide the families of policemen murdered by Black Lives Matter supporters and innocent victims of Islamic terrorism in the U.S. and abroad?
The so-called "hope" delivered by the current administration consists of a decimated military, the rise of Islamic State, demoralized law enforcement, failed economic policies that have prompted 94 million able-bodied Americans to drop out of the workforce, illegals flowing over our borders and draining our social services, a national debt that has doubled over the past 8 years, the lowest home ownership rate in 51 years, sky-rocketing health insurance premiums, millions of additional people on food stamps and in poverty, 15 million more Americans no longer in our nation's workforce, stagnant wages, skyrocketing health insurance premiums, and the deepest racial divide in decades.
Of course, Mrs. Obama is hopeless.
Much of what her husband did to America is about to be reset and wiped out. His executive orders, laws, and policies--gone. Not only will Trump demolish Obama's politically correct legacy, but Michelle and her family and friends won't be able to fly to another 46 countries, with security and hair and makeup artists in tow.
If you wanted the USA to become a Marxist-socialist cesspool, then you are losing hope right about now.
But if you value individual freedom, dawn is just around the corner. Americans have plenty of reason to be optimistic now that Obama won't be in a position to give all our tax dollars to welfare, abortion clinics, climate change nonsense, and illegal immigrants while slashing veterans' benefits and torpedoing our armed forces.
Fellow Americans, relief is on the way.
