Speaker-designate Mike Johnson, R-La., was re-elected to lead the House of Representatives on Friday.

Rep. Mike Johnson has officially secured the Speaker of the House position.
Reps. Keith Self and Ralph Norman switched their votes to Johnson, delivering the 218 votes needed to clinch the role.
Rep. Tim Burchett reflected on the moment, saying this about Johnson:
QUESTION: “Why did you support Mike Johnson on the first ballot?”
ANSWER: “Because he’s never lied to me, and I know where he’s at philosophically. We just need to support him more in the conservative causes, and I think he’s going to be a great speaker.”
