I suppose what was old will be now become new again. Our forefathers progressed from horse and buggy to jets and fanciful cars. But our progressive liberals knowing what’s better for Ontario citizens have decided that back to the future is what lies in store. I wouldn’t sherk at the photo of the Pre-Confederation home. It has all the comforts future Ontario tax payers with Smart Meters can afford.
Long gone will the days be to a three bedroom home with family room, dining room, and finished basement. Oh no, you can’t have living quarters like that, look at the wasted space you common people are enjoying. Way too many lights in that household, wasteful! And flush toilets, no, no, can’t have that. Cities and regions are using way too much electricity servicing waste water. Nope, you people in the outskirts get Green Eco-friendly earth sanitizers. Did you Mr. Liberal say outhouse? Nope, we are new and improved. Mother Earth is the great sanitizer. We call it gravity fed biofriendly earthen absorption systems. So that we can charge you per dump. We’ve installed Smart Dump Meters.
With all kidding aside. Today’s modern homes built from the 1950’s to present have all been built to very specific building codes. Those codes reflected a very different northern region home. There are extremely few houses built to Green standards in our northern climates. Ones that were built are horrendously expensive and not that comfortable to live in according to our normal life choices. But that’s beside the point in an Green Eco-Friendly Ontario. Man is killing the planet so over paying for a product is what liberals do best, especially if someone else is picking up the tab, like IKEA Toronto.
Let’s look at our Pre-Confederation floor plan. Gone is the family room, living room, kitchen, downstairs washroom, laundry room, and closets. All you need in a McGuinty House, is a downstairs common room. One large common table for the family. Two lights, and they had better be high efficiency ones at that. You can have a TV, but it will be controlled by the Ontario Power Authority with Bluetooth technology linked through your Smart Meter. Can’t watch your favourite shows anymore, only TVO will provided, all hail Steve Paiken! The upstairs is a ladder to the loft for the kids, and the downstairs is a drop down queen size bed for Mom & Dad, err, Dad & Dad, err , Mom and Mom. Can’t figure that one out in the future Ontario either. Heating your home, long gone will be central vac, we will have indirect heating, through the floors. All floors will be red or brown hard packed clay. All you need is a Smitherman Broom to get rid of those dust bunnies. Home heating will be a water circulatory solar powered pump. Nobody other than card carrying Liberals will get ceiling fans. And Energy Ministers and Liberal Premiers can have once-through hot water systems.
Anyway, here is the future of Ontario’s single family dwelling. Eco-Friendly. And fits the bill for the affordable home of our children. Now all we need is Ma & Pa Kettle.
