House Republicans have been discussing reconciliation for months, with one consistent priority: reinstating the ban on federal funding for abortions. However, the budget resolution to kick-start the reconciliation process, released Wednesday morning, included no directive to block the funding.
House Republicans introduced the $95 billion budget resolution with two goals in mind: pass the SAVE America Act and provide emergency supplemental defense funding.
When this Congress last July passed the first reconciliation bill, the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” it prohibited Medicaid reimbursements for Planned Parenthood for a year. That expired this month, and Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of abortions, is once again eligible for federal funding.
Pro-life Republicans are now calling on Congress to ensure that the hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars will no longer be given to Planned Parenthood, which was responsible for the abortion of 430,000 preborn American children last year. ---More...
University Employee Arrested After Post Celebrating Ann Widdecombe’s Death
A 50-year-old trans employee of the University of Aberdeen has been arrested and charged after posting comments on social media celebrating the death of former pro-life Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe.
The pro-life leader was found dead in her home in what police are investigating as a murder.
Police Scotland said they received reports on Saturday, July 11, relating to a post made online. Following further assessment, a 50-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
The posts were made on the Bluesky platform by web developer Heather Herbert, a man who pretends to be a woman. ---More...
Senators Urge AG Todd Blanche to Stop Mail-Order Abortions
U.S. Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) sent a letter to Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche in association with of his nomination hearing yesterday in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The letter is urging him to resolve the mail-order abortion lawsuit, Louisiana v. FDA, by agreeing to a court-ordered consent decree, which would end the unlawful Biden-era policy that removed in-person dispensing requirements for the dangerous chemical abortion drug, mifepristone, while FDA conducts its safety review.

Catholic Bishops Tell Trump Admin to Not Expand IVF Over Moral Concerns
U.S. Catholic bishops and allied Catholic medical organizations have urged the Labor Department to reject a proposed rule expanding insurance coverage for in vitro fertilization.
They are citing serious moral objections to the destruction of human embryos and the separation of procreation from marriage and family.
In public comments submitted to the department, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, along with the Catholic Medical Association, the National Catholic Bioethics Center and the National Association of Catholic Nurses, USA, called for excluding IVF from expanded “limited excepted benefits” coverage. The groups expressed support for fertility-related insurance that respects unborn human life and the natural process of procreation but strongly opposed including IVF. ---More...
Trust in Congress, Liberal Media Approaches All-Time Low
The American public’s trust in major U.S. institutions is rapidly approaching a record low, with Congress and mainstream media faring the worst.
According to a Gallup survey published this week, American trust in 12 of 14 institutions is at or nearing record lows, with only an average of 27% placing their trust in major U.S. institutions. Small business was rated the most trustworthy (67%), followed by the military and police, at 61% and 45% respectively. Organized religion was next in line (33%), followed by banks and the medical system (tied at 28%).
Americans placed the same degree of trust (27%) in the presidency, the U.S. Supreme Court, and public schools, one point ahead of organized labor (26%). One-fifth (20%) of Americans said that they trust big technology companies (20%), while Big Business (17%) and the criminal justice system (17%) both scored lower. Newspapers (17%) and television news (14%) clocked in just above Congress (9%). While the medical system’s current trust score rivals its own all-time low, public schools and newspapers are only one point above their record lows, and the Supreme Court and Congress are only two points away from their lowest points. ---More...
