The stability of an economically struggling Province of Ontario couldn’t be more dire now that Premier Doug Ford is running for reelection—one impossible to lose—with no Liberal Opposition.

Wrapped in the cover of being Canada’s “populist,” a lie promoted by some American media, Ford is no populist and because of his close friendship with PM Justin Trudeau, during the COVID-19 pandemic and continuing to the present day, is not even a genuine Conservative.

What a joke! Ford never “protected” Ontarians during the pandemic. In fact, Ford was the leading Canadian premier to join Trudeau in what the international media at the time called a “draconian” response to a ‘pandemic’, including lockdowns that closed children’s schools and all churches, among other once thriving businesses.

“You might remember that in 2022, the Doug Ford PCs’ treatment of Freedom Convoy participants included:

• Petitioning an Ontario court to freeze over $8 million in voluntary donations raised for the truckers.

“Crown prosecutors (who answer to Doug Ford’s PC Attorney General) relentlessly prosecuting hundreds of protestors for nearly three years now.

“Compare that to the Ford PCs’ response to the pro-Hamas activist occupation of the Confederation Building on Parliament Hill last week:

• No arrests.

• No frozen bank accounts or donations.

• No public condemnation from Doug Ford.

Purported Pugilistic Prowess

“At the New Blue, we’ve stood firm against draconian COVID-19 policies and government overreach since day one. Starting in 2020 with Belinda Karahalios’ courageous vote against Ford’s Bill 195, we’ve been Ontario’s true conservative voice.”

Also, Ford is pretty sure that he and Trump would get along.

LOL! Bully Ford seems to have missed that President Trump does not suffer fools gladly. Never did.

LOL! Truth is that the once thriving spirit of ‘Ford Nation’ tragically died with his brother, Rob Ford, the once beloved populist Mayor of Toronto.

Meanwhile, things look depressingly bleak for Canada both provincially and federally

Politico should—but won’t—ask Ford is his love only for the blue states and not the red ones that he wants to tariff.

When first elected premier as a former Toronto City Hall Counsellor—who rode in on his late brother’s coattails-- in 2018, Doug Ford took on the portfolio of Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, supposedly giving him the self-chosen ability to directly confront Justin Trudeau and fight for Ontarians. Instead Ford and Trudeau became fast friends.

Meanwhile, things look depressingly bleak for Canada both provincially and federally.

As a longtime Toronto friend reminded CFP this morning, “Couldn’t be worse as the coast is clear for Ford’s coming Feb. 27 election victory with no Liberal opposition in sight.”

“His fellow traveller Liberals have not even selected a candidate to run against him.”
