PA. DCNR wants bids to take down TREC broken Wind Turbines $50k to 100k

I found accidentally that Pennsylvania Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources announced on January 14, 2014, that it was taking bids for the demolition of the small wind turbine at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center (Presque Isle State Park) in Erie, PA.

The bid range was between $ 50,000 to $ 100,000. I believe the turbine has been out of commission for several years now after a storm gave it a love tap. From what I heard one of the blades could not be found and may now be in orbit around the earth battling CO2 emissions. Unfortunately I cannot copy the State's bid notice. There is another broken down small turbine at the former Stull Interpretive Center on Presque Isle State Park, Erie, PA, and also the 600 kw (mid size industrial) wind turbine in Conneaut, Ohio, which is next to a school and close to I-90. That turbine has been broken down for two or more years and reports indicate the cost to repair it will be $ 1 million +.
