Petawawa bids farewell to 3 more soldiers
PETAWAWA, Ont. - For more than a 100 years, the people of Petawawa, Ont., have watched the soldiers who are their friends and neighbours leave the army base here to fight for Canada in the world's most dangerous hot spots.
It's no different this Christmas season. More than 2,000 of their friends and neighbours from Canadian Forces Base Petawawa are in the midst of a six-month rotation in southern Afghanistan where, on Friday, three soldiers were killed.
All three were based here at this eastern Ontario base the army calls the Training Ground of the Warriors.
