This event followed her refusal to comply with her termination by the Trump administration. Fong, a 22-year veteran at the USDA, argued that the administration did not follow proper legal protocols for her dismissal. Security agents escorted her out after she insisted on staying, citing advice from the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency that her termination notice was not legally effective.
