From the frozen tundra known as Canada with world attention on the Nicolas Maduro trial in now municipally communist New York City, comes chilling news: Volodymyr Zelensky today appointed Canadian Liberal MP Chrystia Freeland as his advisor on Economic Development.
Volodymyr Zelensky: “Today, I appointed Chrystia Freeland as an Advisor on Economic Development. Chrystia is highly skilled in these matters and has extensive experience in attracting investment and implementing economic transformations. Right now, Ukraine needs to strengthen its internal resilience – both for the sake of Ukraine’s recovery if diplomacy delivers results as swiftly as possible, and to reinforce our defense if, because of delays by our partners, it takes longer to bring this war to an end. I am grateful to everyone who is ready to support our state and our engagement with partners. Glory to Ukraine!”

Robert W. Malone, MD pointedly asks “Now (that) she is directing the Ukrainian economy, what could possibly go wrong?
“Chrystia is a WEF young leaders program graduate, who was not trained as an economist, but rather her background is in Russian history and literature.
"Her tenure as Canada’s Minister of Finance (2020-2025) was defined by massive spending, high taxation, monetary manipulation, and an increasing fusion of government power with corporate and central bank interests, a dangerously unsustainable mix for any advanced economy.”
Not only Chrystia, but “more than half” of Canada’s Trudeau and ultimately Carney cabinet were and are WEF young leaders—and that comes from the proverbial horse’s mouth, WEF founder Klaus Schwab.
Canada is now under the complete control of the WEF, a grave situation willingly ignored by most of the legacy media, bought off by a $660-million Liberal Government buy-off, with any independent media about to be thrown off the Internet by the Ottawa government’s Bill C-9, the so-called "Combatting Hate Act."
With all the power and control of Canada now in Liberal hands, and the outside world seemingly looking the other way, who’s going to stop them?
Incredibly, Freeland now officially under Zelensky control, has moved into the heart of Ukraine’s corrupt politics—while still serving as a Liberal Member of Parliament.
Freeland, a high-ranking insider and Member of Parliament, was PM Justin Trudeau’s budget chief for five years, so there is no doubt that she understands the Byzantine nature of Canada’s politics and finances—she knows where the bodies are buried and where the cash is stashed.

"OTTAWA — Liberal MP and former finance minister Chrystia Freeland says she will resign as an MP in “coming weeks” after accepting a role as adviser on economic development to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
“Freeland, who was first elected as a Liberal in Toronto in 2013, confirmed her imminent departure on social media 12 hours after Zelenskyy announced her appointment as her advisor Monday morning.
“Ukraine is at the forefront of today’s global fight for democracy, and I welcome this chance to contribute on an unpaid basis as an economic advisor to President Zelensky,” she wrote on X, adding that she was resigning as Prime Minister Mark Carney’s special representative for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
“In the coming weeks I will also leave my seat in Parliament. I want to thank my constituents for their years of confidence in me. I am so grateful to have been your representative.”
“Zelenskyy announced Freeland’s appointment on X Monday morning, describing the former deputy prime minister and current Toronto MP as “highly skilled in these matters and has extensive experience in attracting investment and implementing economic transformations.”
“Freeland resigned from Prime Minister Mark Carney’s cabinet in September and announced she would not be running in the next federal election. Months later, she announced that she would be the next Warden of Rhodes House and CEO of the Rhodes Trust beginning later this year. (National Post)
“But Freeland’s appointment as an adviser to a foreign government while sitting as a Canadian MP and Carney’s parliamentary secretary for the reconstruction of Ukraine did not sit well with political watchers and Conservative MPs, who argued she is in conflict of interest.
“One cannot be a Canadian MP and an advisor to a foreign government. She must do one or the other. She should resign as advisor or as MP for University-Rosedale,” Conservative foreign affairs critic Michael Chong wrote on social media.
“Chrystia Freeland is a sitting Liberal MP — yet PM Carney allowed her to take an appointment from a foreign head of state. This is beyond awkward,” said Conservative MP Marc Dalton. “If Carney wants Freeland abroad, she needs to resign her seat. Parliament is not a side gig.”
"Former Saskatchewan NDP finance minister and current political commentator Andrew Thomson said Freeland’s position as both a Canadian politician and Ukrainian adviser is “untenable.”
“Sitting Canadian MPs should not be advising or representing foreign governments — even allied or friendly ones — in any capacity. Period. If it’s not illegal, it should be,” he said.
“Carney’s office did not respond to questions about when the prime minister learned of her new role with Ukraine and if he’d approved it by deadline.
"In an interview, government ethics specialist Ian Stedman agreed that Freeland’s dual roles appear “untenable at the surface.” He said there need to be screens to ensure that Freeland is not sharing unsanctioned information she learns through her role as an MP and parliamentary secretary with the Zelenskyy government.
“She has to make sure that what she knows by virtue of her parliamentary secretary role doesn’t inform the advice she’s giving (to Ukraine) unless, of course, it was already stuff that was intended to inform the relationship with Ukraine,” said Stedman, a York University assistant professor who previously worked for Ontario’s Integrity Commissioner.

“I can’t make sense of it,” he noted.
"The former deputy prime minister under former prime minister Justin Trudeau had sought the Liberal leadership last year, but lost to Carney. He made her minister of transport and internal trade, a post she resigned from in September, at which time she also announced she would not seek re-election in the next election, not required until 2029.
“A source close to Freeland told National Post at the time that the outgoing minister was also not planning on finishing her term as the MP for University–Rosedale and would be meeting with the riding association to discuss resignation at her earliest opportunity.
“Carney then gave her a parliamentary secretary role as Canada’s special representative for the reconstruction of Ukraine, a position that came with a salary top-up but no office or staff.
“A spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office told National Post her duties will include working with Ukrainian officials on a plan to rebuild its economy, and liaising with Canadian business, academic and labour leaders and the Ukrainian-Canadian community. She will report directly to Carney.
“In November, Freeland, 56, was announced as the next Warden of Rhodes House and CEO of the Rhodes Trust by the U.K.-based global educational charity’s trustees. Freeland herself is a Rhodes Scholar, having obtained a master’s degree in Slavonic Studies from the University of Oxford’s St. Antony’s College.
"She will reportedly move to Oxford, England, to take on the new position starting in July.
“Freeland is of Ukrainian descent on her mother’s side, speaks the native tongue and has long been, even before her time in politics, an advocate for the country and critical of Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin.
“Zelenskyy’s announcement comes as Carney travels to Paris to meet with world leaders on ending the Russia-Ukraine war. (National Post)
"It’s not the first time Freeland takes on a second international role while elected MP. In 2019, she was named to the the World Economic Forum’s highest governing body, the board of trustees, while also serving as Canada’s foreign affairs minister.
“Carney, then Governor of the Bank of England, was also on the WEF’s board of trustees at the time.”
Canada Free Press sincerely believes that this is happening when world attention is focused on the arrest of Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, and would like to remind President Donald J. Trump that the Canadian Liberal Government never did live up to its promise to keep fentanyl from crossing from Canada over the American border, during the Tariff Wars.
