Post-election stress disorder

BombThrowers I always thought New York was a city of tough, self-confident people. It appears I was wrong. The Big Apple is providing city employees with “counseling services and other support for dealing with election-year stress brought on by Donald Trump’s election,” the New York Post reports.

Mental health resources are available

“We have seen the concerns expressed on social media and we are monitoring them closely,” the email reads. Agencies involved include the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Department of Education, and Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policies Richard Buery, who is in charge of a mental health program called Thrive NYC. And it gets worse. “Since the election, Mayor de Blasio has been reassuring New Yorkers that his administration will work to protect them from potentially harmful polices that have been proposed by Trump over the past year — particularly on immigration,” the NYP reports.
