If the news reports are accurate, the Oregon college shootings are a hate crime. nothing less. When we figure out how to ban hate, we will solve the problem. Those, including the President, who continue to yammer about gun control have no facts to support their position. In fact, quite the contrary, some of the most dangerous places in America have the strictest gun laws.
It is likely that if the American people were provided verifiable data and reasonable restrictions that allowed honest, law abiding citizens to own firearms, there would be a positive response.
However, as long as illegal immigrants are moving about, drugs and gangs are pouring into our south, mental health issues are largely ignored and American citizens are being radicalized by ISIS, no rational person would agree to relinquish their ability to protect themselves and their family.
What the President doesn't seem to grasp is that his policies are a big part of the problem and his constant drum beat for gun control isn't backed-up by any action to fix the reasons Americans are clinging to their guns.
