Poor police. For three billion dollars the registry MAY have helped them trace the three or so registered guns used in crime in the last 15 years.
But NONE of them solved a crime, they simply showed who owned them - AFTER the fact. Of the 23 million long guns NEVER registered, just what earthly use was the registry?? Further, those of us who ARE licensed and
registered are at the GREATEST risk of home invasion as criminals and the few dishonest police (fortunately the vast majority are honest, but as Chretien himself said - "It only takes one....") have unfettered access to
the "shopping list for criminals" which is the main use of the registry.
Hackers and home invaders love it. After all, "live home invasions" a term not even known before the "registry" are now rampant. All BECAUSE of the registry. After all, those of us in the registry are by definition honest and safe as we have used firearms responsibly all our life without any problem.
