I wish I could put into words the hope that swells in my heart when I heard Chris Christie speak at the RNC. Or hear the long applause when Scott Walker announced the Wisconsin delegate allocation. Or hear the way Maine Governor, LePage is quietly and effectively balancing the budget in his state.
Hope is a wonderful thing that has been missing within the American heart. When the leadership and the majority of the people understand and respect each other, even in the face of great adversity, we can feel hopeful. The people understand that we must make hard choices. We have been frustrated by the unwillingness by the White House to speak honestly with us. We are adults and we are not stupid.
Changing the course of the country is a process. It will take many election cycles. It will require continued vigilance. It will take much conversation with true listening and reasonable heads. It will be painful. We the people will have to understand and support the leaders as those painful decisions are made.
But, as we continue placing real leaders in key positions both on the national stage and locally, we will feel hope swell in our hearts.
The hope for a better tomorrow for our children and grandchildren.
