Should Las Vegas casinos be liable for Rizzolo’s debts?
The following story on the front page of today's San Francisco Chronicle raises the question if LV casinos including the MGM, Hard Rock, and Palms can be held responsible for knowingly taking millions from a man who owe's the IRS, a beating victim, the City of Las Vegas, and others over $28 million dollars?
These casinos continue to consider Rick Rizzolo one of their best whales, and let him lose tens of thousands each night while they're fully aware that the money he loses in their casinos is owed to the government and Kirk Henry.
What is the Nevada Gaming Control Board doing about this? Or are they so controlled by the casinos they are supposed to govern that they are turning their backs? - SM

Legal and gambling experts say trying to hold casinos liable for Siddiqui's alleged acts would be a long shot, dependent on proving the casinos knew or should have known that something was amiss... High rollers... are watched carefully by casinos, who keep detailed computer files with their meal preferences, favorite teams, birthdates and spouses' names... That responsibility, Stewart and other legal experts said, falls generally into what some call the "reasonable person" standard: Would a reasonable person, knowing what the casinos know about a given patron, suspect something was amiss?.. The details needed to establish whether the casinos could reasonably assume Siddiqui's money was his own may not come to light unless a lawsuit is filed.
