The debate over the 9/11 mosque is missing a sense of historical context. Islam is full of examples of forcible construction of mosques over the ruins of vanquished non Muslims, and aggressive denial of the sensitivities of non Muslims.
Other faiths construct temples, synagogues, and churches as facilities for prayer. Islamic mosques, on the other hand, are often built to show supremacy over other faiths
Mosques are often constructed over the ruins of temples and churches. Frequently, they are built in areas where few Muslims reside. And disturbingly, these structures push the envelope of building codes to ensure gargantuan proportions dwarfing their surroundings.
The only way to combat this is for ordinary citizens to create grassroots movements. Our media and politicians are often bought and paid for, so we as citizens must stand for our rights.
The CANADIAN HINDU ADVOCACY congratulates heroic ordinary American citizens who are standing up against this obscene mosque.
And to inspire ordinary Americans, we the Hindu community will relate how ordinary Hindu citizens in India (the world's largest democracy) stood tall in 1992 to defeat a similar Islamo-fascist initiative.
In the holy Hindu city of Ayodhya, Islamic invaders had demolished a Hindu temple and erected the Babri mosque. This is not uncommon in South Asia: thousands of temples were demolished by Muslims and mosques erected in their place.
Hindu pleas to relocate the mosque were stubbornly resisted by Muslims until 1992. Finally, thousands of Hindu citizens took matters into their own hands and used picks, shovels, and bare hands to demolish the hateful symbol of Islamic genocide.
Here in Canada, the CANADIAN HINDU ADVOCACY and JEWISH DEFENCE LEAGUE OF CANADA in 2007 staged a Newmarket Town Hall meeting to attack construction of a mosque which featured a radical imam named Zafar Bangash.
Patriotic Americans must make a solemn pledge to do whatever is necessary to prevent this mosque from rising. And we must be vigilant to oppose mosques in any part of the nation which violate our freedoms and rights.
