Sunday School Kids Know More About The Bible Than Their Pious Pastors and Jewish Leaders

The time is nigh for Sunday School volunteer teachers to take some pastors down to the church basement when they lead the children away to learn about the Holy Bible before service gets underway. No doubt that most children know more about Almighty God’s Will and the Bible than what 20 Christian and Jewish leaders who gathered at the Whole Woman’s Health abortion facility in North Austin, Texas, to “bless” its baby-killing work do.

You can’t make this up. Only the infanticide-celebrating pastors and some Jewish leaders can: “About 20 Christian and Jewish leaders who gathered for the event sang, “Hallelujah. Do not fear. You are loved. Bless this room. Bless this womb,” in the waiting room of the abortion facility, the report described. (LifeNews, Aug. 28, 2019) “Others insisted that religious people can support abortion.” (The Texas Observer, Aug.28, 2019)

“As a matter of faith, women have been given free will with regard to their bodies,” said Rabbi Alan Freeman, of Temple Beth Shalom. “… As a matter of faith, one’s beliefs about the nature of life is a theological issue, not a legislative one.” (LifeNews)

Where are you going with this, Rabbi? It wasn’t a matter of faith that gave women “free will with regard to their bodies”. It was Roe-V-Wade, and you can’t get more “legislative” than that.

And at the risk of going Biblical on you, isn’t “Thou shalt not kill” one of your commandments? Then there’s the Rev. Amelia Fulbright, who takes the word “ain’t” all the way to its superlative:

“Let’s be clear, there is nothing in the Christian scripture that condemns abortion—it just ain’t in there,” added the Rev. Amelia Fulbright, from the Labyrinth Progressive Student Ministry.” (LifeNews) “But this is not true. The Bible may not specifically mention the word “abortion,” but it clearly does condemn the life-destroying practice. Even in ancient times, babies in the womb were viewed as valuable, as is evident in Luke 1:41. Jesus placed great value on children when others in society did not in Matthew 19:14, and Proverbs 6:16-17 states that one of the things God hates most is the shedding of innocent blood.

One of the ten commandments prohibits murder.

“Still, abortion advocacy groups are trying to convince the public that they can be Christian and Jewish and support the killing of unborn babies. (LifeNews) “One of these groups, Texas Freedom Network, recently began a project called Just Texas that identifies churches, synagogues and other houses of worship that support abortion. So far, there are 17 on the list, according to the report. “All of the push against [abortion] is coming from people of faith,” Sonja Miller, who helps run the project, told the news outlet. “But this is not true either. The pro-life movement is diverse. The idea that every human life has value brings together people from all walks of life, including the non-religious. “Miller then insisted that pro-life Christians are “not the majority,” just the “loudest, most dominant voice.”

“So it’s absolutely essential that people of faith who fully affirm women accessing their own moral agency and making their own decisions step up and speak out affirming that,” she said. “What they are really affirming is not women’s rights or freedoms. They are affirming and “blessing” abortion – the destruction of an innocent, unique living human being. “True religion rejects violence and raises up the most vulnerable. It defends the defenseless and offers compassion to the suffering. This is what pro-life advocates, secular and religious, do every day for mothers and babies across the world. They offer struggling families true blessings by reassuring them that every life is valuable.”

The 20-odd pastors and Jewish leaders do a great disservice to their use of the word “Hallelujah!” and the words, “Do not fear. You are loved. Bless this room. Bless this womb” in their stupefied song. People of Faith should pray for their discernment. Better yet, Christ’s cherished “little ones” should teach the 20 pastors and Jewish leaders what is really in the Holy Bible.
