The official vote tally is: Roger Gitlin 43.84% Leslie McNamer (Incumbent) 41.60% Donna Westfall, City Council member 14.57%
“I am humbled and energized by voter response to my desire to serve the residents of Del Norte County,” said Gitlin. Gitlin ran on a campaign of Let’s Fix It, smaller government, Constitutional adherence, and fiscal responsibility. Roger Gitlin and the incumbent will run off in November in what promises to be a spirited campaign in California’s northwest corner. Del Norte County borders Oregon and is arguably one of the most beautiful settings on the Pacific Ocean but has been beset with a dour economy and an over reliance on State and Federal give-aways.
