The conservative approach to environmental stewardship

Oh, really? Always? In one year, maybe, but year after year, cumulatively? You grandly ignore that there has been cutting and underfunding going on for a while already.
This mentality, that we can always take a bit more without doing any harm, also underlies the conservative approach to environmental stewardship.
