The Continuing Scandal at the Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Office The latest from Judicial Watch:
The Los Angeles Veterans Affairs (VA) facility that illegally rents its sprawling grounds to institutions that don’t serve veterans just evicted several groups dedicated to veterans, including a nonprofit that for decades has comforted dying vets and another that helps those who are disabled. While the VA gave the volunteer organizations the boot without offering an explanation, it continues housing a parking lot for nearby upscale shops, a university baseball stadium, a dog park for the professional dog walkers of affluent residents, and athletic fields for a fancy prep school. It marks the latest of several scandals involving the misuse of this VA property, where a top official pleaded guilty to multiple felonies last year for taking bribes from a parking lot operator that defrauded the agency out of millions.
This month at least five established nonprofits dedicated to providing veterans with therapeutic activities, counseling and other valuable survival skills have been evicted while private businesses that don’t benefit vets remain. The Jewish War Veterans is among the organizations that just got kicked out along with Twilight Brigade, the Disabled American Veterans, Vet-to-Vet and the Association for Parrot C.A.R.E., which provides therapeutic activities for vets at its parrot sanctuary. A local newspaper reported the latest travesty at the southern California VA this week, but Judicial Watch has for years investigated, sued and obtained government documents involving the VA’s illegal use of this parcel.--- More...
Veterans were hoping that President Trump's newly appointed Secretary of the VA, Robert A. Wilkie, would change things. Instead they've only gotten worse. It's time for Secretary Wilkie to take control and clean house at the Los Angeles VA. Veterans cannot continue to be abused and mistreated and their land misused for non-Veteran use. Homeless Veterans have created a Skid Row encampment along the San Vicente Blvd sidewalk while the VA's alleged self-serving executive director, Ann Brown who is not a veteran and lives on the VA grounds, refuses to open a humanitarian crisis / emergency Tent City while she religiously kowtows to her wealthy and powerful non-Veteran friends who occupy vast parcels of Federal VA property "rent free." It's time for President Trump to walk his talk regarding his State of the Union Speech and the VA where he declared there are "improvements to increase accountability and protecting whistleblowers with the VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act."
We've been blowing the whistle on this rampant crime and corruption for more than a decade and the VA retaliates against us. There's nobody at the top of the Los Angeles VA that are accountable to anyone except the wealthy and powerful non-Veteran elite. President Trump is going to to lose credibility among Veterans if he doesn't take control and hold Secretary Wilkie accountable for the continuation of possibly the biggest land-fraud scandal in American history that has shamefully established Los Angeles as our nation's capital for homeless Veterans. We're a month a way from our 11-year anniversary of the Old Veterans Guard's peaceful and non-violent "Veterans Revolution" to "Save Our Veterans Land" and to "Bring Our Homeless Veterans HOME." Instead of working with us to end Veteran homelessness in Los Angeles, VA bureaucrats and VA police have arrested us for "displaying a placard" as Ann Brown has sworn under oath that the American Flag is nothing but a placard. Equally disrespectful and unpatriotic, the United States Attorneys Office attempted to prosecute us 18 different times for displaying a placard, but all of these false and malicious prosecutions were dismissed. It's time to hold accountable VA bureaucrats and U.S. Attorneys Office. God Bless America and the Veterans Revolution!
