Fifty years ago, on February 7, 1964, Pan Am Yankee Clipper flight 101 from London Heathrow landed at New York's Kennedy Airport and "Beatlemania" hit America. The Beatles had just launched the US leg of their world tour.
In August of 1964 The Beatles stayed at The Edgewater Hotel, newly completed for the World’s Fair. At the time, no other hotel in the city would accept The Beatles as guests; however The Edgewater happily welcomed them. During their stay, the band famously fished from the window of their suite, the photo of which has become legendary.
