Resurfacing now that the far left has managed to weaponize a virus gone viral as a pandemic, is former Toronto Board of Education trustee Doug Little.
Crush the resistance and break their spirit
Checking in from Vancouver, B.C. at 12:44 a.m., on August 10, 2021, Little tweeted out—with no complaint from Jack Dorsey’s unapologetic Twitter: “My position is we must make the lives of the unvaccinated a total misery and just keep escalating the exclusions until we crush the resistance and break their spirit in order to force compliance and so they learn not to resist government mandates.”
In political life everything’s now come full circle as most “government mandates” of our day are coming from the far left.
I have worn the delightful defeat of Ward 1 Toronto Board of Education Trustee Doug Little as a badge of honor my entire career as a journalist.
His long-awaited defeat in the air-clearing 1985 municipal election was largely thanks to my education columns in the feisty Toronto Sun.
Nor did I have to take credit for the victory of Little’s defeat, as then Toronto Board of Education chairman Penny Moss did it for me when she was cited in the Toronto Star, the morning after school board elections, saying, “We lost, thanks to that Judi McLeod over at the Toronto Sun.”
Heritage Language Program and Critical Race Theory
My post election column rejoinder on the same day kicked off: “As Clint Eastwood’s ‘Dirty Harry’ would say: “Thanks, Penny for making my day.”
The chokehold of the New Democrat Party (NDP) Caucus on public education, over a 12-year period was—until parents rose up in fury—can be best described as a long-playing horror show.
Long forgotten by parents of the current day fighting off Critical Race Theory (CRT) is that CRT is the revival of the Toronto Board of Education Heritage Language Program, when kids were taken out of their homeroom classes, to learn languages like Swahili, at the expense of their education.
Irony of ironies, Heritage Language failed when trustees could not force Black parents—who wanted their youngsters educated and not propagandized and politicized—bravely refused to sign up.
It wasn’t just Doug Little sent back to pasture by the Toronto Sun, but all NDP Caucus board trustees.
They were out of office for three wonderful years until the next election. Some trustees made it back via reelection, others scattered to the underbelly of the Body Politic noted above.
Over the years, Doug Little, now a blogger at thelittleeducationreport.ca with only 2,873 Twitter followers, went on to a now retired Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF) staff member, a former NOW magazine writer, history teacher and York University professor.

The hold of the far left on local politics
In all of my writing years, I never saw anything more vicious than the Toronto Board of Education trustees and their comrades on the then Jack Layton-led Toronto City Council.
The hold of the far left on local politics has been made stronger today with the election of Premier Doug Ford, an alleged ‘Conservative’, whose continuing Lockdown of the entire Province of Ontario is said to be the most draconian—worldwide, and the mayorship of Toronto Mayor, John Tory, whose surname is the only thing he has bearing any resemblance to being a ‘Conservative’.
But in the darkness of our worrisome unstable times, a griping Doug Little inadvertently sheds light on the path of the lost by having stated: “We must make the lives of the unvaccinated a total misery and just keep escalating the exclusions until we crush the resistance and break their spirit in order to force compliance and so they learn not to resist government mandates.”
The light now shines blindingly on this one unalterable fact: Coronavirus is not a pandemic, but a weaponized tool forced upon an unknowing public by the power-crazed radical far left.
