The UN is sending 44 people to monitor our Nov. 6th election. We have sunk to a new low. This is another reason to get out of the United Nations. We pay most of the bill to keep the UN running. We police the seas. We provide most of the peacekeeping troops around the world. We have been a beacon of democracy for suppressed people around the globe.. Now, we need to be monitored for free elections?
The request was made by the ACLU and the NAACP, allegedly because of potential disenfranchisement of minorities. My question is, why are we allowing this meddling? If we were requiring one simple thing, one basic common sense thing, a voter ID, then any issue with a person's right to vote would be ended.
I am outraged that our government is fighting voter ID laws, that our Attorney General is ceding his authority to the UN, and that we are so brainwashed we are allowing it. We are a sovereign nation. What right does anybody have to "oversee" our election?
This is another example of the push to strip the United States citizens of national pride and to relegate us to third world status.
If ever there was a need for new leadership, it is now.
