A Trump administration federal government reform plan seeks to merge the Departments of Education and Labor as a means to fulfill President Donald Trump’s executive order to make the federal government more “efficient, effective and accountable.” The reform plan, announced during a Cabinet meeting Thursday, lists 14 “organizational realignments to enhance mission and service delivery.” The first one named is to “merge the Departments of Education and Labor into a single Cabinet agency, the Department of Education and the Workforce [DEW].” -- More...
