Union Conservatives is pleased to announce their official endorsement for John Kupiec in his bid to unseat 5th District Congressman Dale Kildee, D-Flint.
“John Kupiec has demonstrated to us that he will be a superior Congressman who is equipped to tackle the important issues facing the constituents of District 5,” said Terry Bowman, President and Founder of the organization. “John has the vision needed to see past the failed policies of Dale Kildee that has cost thousands of good paying union jobs, the knowledge necessary to rebuild the business climate for the creation of stable, good paying jobs, and the strength to battle against the usual political hurdles to beneficial change and reform.”
What impressed Bowman most about Kupiec is his recognition that free trade polices are not fair trade policies but instead have allowed for businesses to be exported from this region. Over 80,000 manufacturing jobs have been reduced to less than 5,000 and, to add insult to injury, after the Government takeover of GM, $500 million taxpayer dollars are being spent to build a new plant in Mexico to build a V8 engine that has been built in the 5th District for the past fifty years. Kupiec understands that the loss of manufacturing jobs has not only decimated the 5th District but that manufacturing is crucial to our national defense.
Kupiec further understands that regulatory burdens such as Obamacare and Cap and Trade have hidden costs that reduce economic growth and that Michigan has exacerbated these burdens with additional business taxes. Kupiec will work to reduce burdens on businesses so that they can have a clear roadmap to success in a business friendly environment.
Union Conservatives is an organization that focuses on providing its members with an alternative to the propaganda-filled information passed down to union rank-and-file members. “As a 14 year veteran of the union, I have always been an outspoken conservative in a historically hostile atmosphere to people like me,” said Bowman. “Recently, there has been a rising tide of union members brave enough to publicly announce their displeasure with the far-left liberal policies of politicians like Dale Kildee. Union Conservatives provides a voice for those people.”
Bowman is still an active member of the UAW, working at the Ford Rawsonville plant in Ypsilanti Township and went on to explain that Union Conservatives endorsement of Kupiec “is not about Republicans vs. Democrats, it is about who is best suited to change Michigan’s 5th Congressional District back to the economic powerhouse it once was. Dale Kildee has had 34 years in congress, but unfortunately for his constituency, he has clearly failed. John Kupiec is uniquely qualified to lead an economic revival in today’s global economy. Union workers need to look closely at both candidates and decide which candidate will provide the best chance to help grow union jobs and to provide security for those already employed. We believe that a relationship between union members and John Kupiec will benefit all workers in the district.”
