Walls keep out people you don’t want. The preceding sentence is so obvious I feel silly writing it. And yet leftists and open-borders fanatics — many of whom are on the payroll of Hungarian exile George Soros — keep making the perfect the enemy of the good, whining that because 100 percent of illegal aliens can’t be kept out of the United States, building a wall on the southern border is a dumb, wasteful, even racist idea. Under siege by illegals streaming across its frontiers, Hungary has had enough. That country’s courageous prime minister, Viktor Orban, insists that Hungary’s sovereignty be respected by all

Illegal immigration to Hungary to drop by an astounding 99 percent

Hungary couldn’t block 100 percent of the would-be illegals, but it got pretty darn close. The border fences his government has erected have caused illegal immigration to Hungary to drop by an astounding 99 percent, according to Breitbart London.
Speaking on the second anniversary of the government’s move to seal Hungary’s border with Serbia — which is also an external border for the European Union — Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s Chief Security Advisor György Bakondi announced that the fences have caused illegal immigration to collapse from 391,000 in 2015, to 18,236 in 2016, to just 1,184 in 2017. “The system of technical barriers is the key to the success of border security, and without it, it would be impossible to stop the mass arrival of immigrants” the security chief explained.
Well, duh! The United Nations is furious, naturally. UN Refugee Agency chief Filippo Grandi visited the Hungarian border and complained: “When I was standing at the border fence today, I felt the entire system is designed to keep people, many of whom are fleeing war and persecution, out of the country.” Let’s insert an ellipsis into the quotation to make it clearer. “When I was standing at the border fence today, I felt the entire system is designed to keep people … out of the country.” Again, duh! Double duh!
