So, where was world jet setter Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney when Trucker Freedom Convoy leaders Tamara Lich and Chris Barber were awaiting sentencing in an Ottawa court room today? Hiding. Hiding behind President Donald Trump’s trousers in the White House, that’s where.

It’s been three long years since Lich and Barber were charged with Mischief for the roles they played in bringing thousands of truckers to Ottawa to protest Canada’s Covid lockdowns and government mandates, which included multiple trips from Canada’s West during the country’s longest and costliest Mischief Trial in history.

“OTTAWA—Freedom Convoy co-organizer Tamara Lich has been given a conditional sentence of 18 months, with 74 days subtracted to account for time served.

"Justice Heather Perkins-McVey ruled on Oct. 7 that Lich will be under house arrest for the first 12 months, with exceptions for court appearances, medical emergencies, employment, religious services, and a “period of up to five hours per week to attend to the necessities of life.”

“For the following three and a half months, she will be under curfew between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. She will also have to perform 100 hours of community service.

“Fellow Freedom Convoy co-organizer Chris Barber was also given a conditional sentence of 18 months that will see him serve 12 months under house arrest and six months of curfew.

“The Crown had sought a seven-year prison sentence for Lich, and an eight-year sentence for Barber. Prosecutors also sought to seize and auction off Barber’s truck, “Big Red,” which he used during the protest in Ottawa. Perkins-McVey has said her decision on the seizure of the truck will continue in November.

“Perkins-McVey in April found Barber and Lich guilty of mischief for their role in the Freedom Convoy protests. Barber was also found guilty of counselling others to disobey a court order.”

More than coincidental that Carney chose this very day as the one to talk about trade and tariffs with President Trump.

Carney’s role in the truckers’ Freedom Convoy was was to openly advocate and publicly advise former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the enactment of the Emergency Act.

Being at the White House today, he missed the gathering outside the court house, which descended into a melee with fisticuffs.

No reports from mainstream media whether President Donald Trump was aware of what was happening back in Ottawa, or if he knew that Carney was using today’s visit as a potential diversion.

There was much laughter between Carney and Trump, at a dark time when many Canadians are fighting off bankruptcy and going hungry, some of them worried about keeping their homes heated during another long Canadian Winter.

Canada Free Press, who has long been a faithful Trump supporter for more than a decade, dares to correct the President of the U.S. for openly stating that Carney is a “nice man” and “great leader.”

At best, you are misreading him, Mr. President, just as much as the naive boomers who voted him in.

While today, he will likely go on to boast about how he got to ‘yak it up’ with the most powerful leader in the world, he is the appointed ‘agent’ tasked to take down America.
