We’re All Going to Die if We Don’t Listen to Al Gore, Aspiring Billionaire Al Gore Says

Al Gore’s global warming hype machine presses on, oblivious to the fact that hard science -as opposed to semi-scientific crystal ball gazing- shows the planet is cooling. Just yesterday Daily Tech reported that the American Physical Society, an organization representing almost 50,000 physicists, did an about-face and re-opened its debate on global warming after its leadership previously called the evidence for global warming “incontrovertible.”

Yet Gore’s now demanding that Americans embrace his new 10-year plan to abandon fossil fuels in electricity generation - or else face Armageddon. According to this fluffball report by AP’s Ron Fournier:

Just as John F. Kennedy set his sights on the moon, Al Gore is challenging the nation to produce every kilowatt of electricity through wind, sun and other Earth-friendly energy sources within 10 years, an audacious goal he hopes the next president will embrace. The Nobel Prize-winning former vice president said fellow Democrat Barack Obama and Republican rival John McCain are “way ahead” of most politicians in the fight against global climate change. Rising fuel costs, climate change and the national security threats posed by U.S. dependence on foreign oil are conspiring to create “a new political environment” that Gore said will sustain bold and expensive steps to wean the nation off fossil fuels. “I have never seen an opportunity for the country like the one that’s emerging now,” Gore told The Associated Press in an interview previewing a speech on global warming he was to deliver Thursday in Washington.

Al Gore said we’re all going to die if we don’t follow his instructions: “The survival of the United States of America as we know it is at risk. The future of human civilization is at stake.” Gore’s pressure group, the Alliance for Climate Protection, guesstimates that changing the nation over to so-called clean sources of electricity will cost up to $3 trillion (that’s trillion with a ‘T’) over three decades. But the investment will pay off in multiples, he claims. “It’s an expensive investment but not compared to the rising cost of continuing to invest in fossil fuels.” Senator George Voinovich (R-Ohio) quickly dismissed Gore’s plan as “ridiculous.” What’s not ridiculous is the mountain of money that Gore stands to make if policy makers take leave of their senses and embrace the environmentalist demagogue’s plan. That’s serious money. It could even be in the billions of dollars for Gore whose investments magically coincide with his policy prescriptions. (See here, here, here, and here.)
