Were George Conway Attacks on Trump Diversion To Mask Coming Lincoln Project Scandal? Were the unending verbal attacks on former President Donald Trump by Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway—while his wife Kellyanne was still cashing pay checks signed by the president— a diversion against the coming Lincoln Project scandal we’re only now reading about today? George Conway’s first verbal attack charging President Trump as “incompetent” came in 2018, followed by a steady barrage of similar and worse attacks—even as his wife was serving as Trump’s chief political advisor.

All continued on its not so merry way until Kellyanne finally officially bailed out on the president—one day before the 2020 Republican National Convention. “Kellyanne Conway has announced that she is resigning from her post as senior adviser to US President Donald Trump. (BBC, Aug. 24, 2020)
“In a statement, Mrs Conway, 53, said she was stepping down at the end of August to focus on her children, giving them "less drama, more mama”.
The couple’s then 15-year-old daughter, Claudia was on social media posting that politicking rather than parenting was taking command in the Conway household.
“Mrs Conway, who is still scheduled to speak at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, informed Mr Trump on Sunday night.” (BBC) “Her husband, George, an outspoken critic of the president, will also be stepping back from political activism.”
But husband George—to this day still a political activist of the scandal-plagued Lincoln Project—and still throwing brickbats at President Trump—didn’t step back.

“Heading into the 2020 election, most of the U.S. media was uninterested in, if not outright hostile to, any reporting that might have helped President Trump’s re-election bid. As a result, the Lincoln Project continued to enjoy media veneration even as the magnitude of its scam became increasingly obvious. But with Trump now safely vanquished, the Lincoln Project is dispensable, and the protective shield it enjoyed against any real journalistic scrutiny is — like its reputation and prospects for future profiteering — rapidly crumbling. (Glen Greenwald, Feb. 12, 2021) "Since its creation, the Lincoln Project has raised $90 million. But only about a third of the money, roughly $27 million, directly paid for advertisements that aired on broadcast and cable, or appeared online, during the 2020 campaign, according to an analysis of campaign finance disclosures and data from the ad tracking firm Kantar/CMAG. "That leaves tens of millions of dollars that went toward expenses like production costs, overhead — and exorbitant consulting fees collected by members of the group. "Conway’s public accusation of criminality against his own group came after they tried to intimidate a journalist, Amanda Becker, who was working to report on the group’s various scandals. Greenwald describes the group’s current status:
“They have transformed into meek, mute little mice, hiding somewhere out of sight. Anyone who has their best interests at heart should hope they are huddled in their criminal lawyers’ offices. All of this silence and hiding and evasion is particularly ironic given the Abraham Lincoln quote they chose to define themselves, that still sits atop their now-dormant Twitter profile, which admonishes: “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” Indeed.”
“Ahead of Donald Trump’s historic second impeachment, George Conway blasted the ‘psychopath’ for his role in the Capitol insurrection, before mocking the ‘weak’ Trump over how he ‘can’t even tweet at us.’ (Hollywood Life, Jan. 13, 2021)
“This man, Donald Trump, because he’s a psychopath, a man who could gloat and watch in glee as the Capitol was ransacked and attacked, and his people’s lives were threatened, this psychopath is…going to be a pariah for the rest of his life,” added Conway.”
This is Kellyanne Conway’s Tweet on Jan. 21, 2021: May God Bless the new administration @POTUS@Joe Biden @ VP@Kamala Harris in their work on behalf of this great nation and her people. Unity = always rooting or America’s security and success.” Back in 2020, she tweeted that she was taking a "mental health break" from social media, saying "this is becoming way too much”. Perhaps it’s the masses who need a "mental health break” from both Kellyanne and George Conway!
