It’s a time for asking what our country can do for us is instead of asking what we can do for our country.

It’s a time when more emphasis is placed on being an ethnic-American than in being a fellow-American.
It’s a time when we love freedom of expression more than expressing our love of freedom.
It’s a time when standing up for one’s rights has taken priority over standing up for what is right.
It’s a time when “one nation, indivisible” has become a nation divided into blue states and red states.

It’s a time when health care benefits are more important than the benefits of taking care of one’s health.
It’s a time when one person’s fifteen-minutes-of-fame is up because someone else is using theirs to put them down.
It’s a time when sports figures are known more for displaying their worst than playing their best.
It’s a time when behaving different gets more respect than making a difference.
It’s a time when more prisons are built than churches because more crimes are committed than good deeds.
It’s a time when virtual is more believable than reality because deception is more convincing that the truth.
It’s a time when nonsense is common while common sense is uncommon.
It’s a time when new-fashioned ideas are in great surplus while old-fashioned ideals are in short supply.
It’s time for a change.
