A homegrown terrorist who plotted to blow up the United States Capitol and who looks like Wolverine from “The X-Men” movie franchise has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. Christopher Lee Cornell, 22, was convicted in federal court in Cincinnati for plotting to attack the U.S. Capitol on behalf of Islamic State. Prosecutors said Cornell hoped to attack the Capitol while President Obama was delivering a State of the Union address. As he was removed from the courtroom Cornell yelled: “Allah is in control, not this judge!” The FBI took Cornell into custody in January 2015. He enter guilty pleas to three charges, including attempted murder of U.S. officials and employees.
