So, where does the SCOTUS Obamacare decision leave us?

A Tax By Any Other Name Would Smell The Same

Obamacare. Oh gee, it's a tax. Go figure!
Well, of course it's a tax. The amount you have to pay is set by the government. The government will force you to pay, under penalty of fine or imprisonment. The IRS is going to enforce collection of the money. Who, but the most incomprehensibly naive idiot would think it isn't a tax? Claiming it isn't a tax was just something Obama and his co-conspirators said to keep the peasants from rioting. It was a classic example of how standing up in public and telling the most bald-faced lies over and over again will actually persuade dull witted people. Honestly, P.T. Barnum would have loved Obama and his cohorts.

So, where does the SCOTUS Obamacare decision leave us? Fortunately, it leaves us right where we were. It didn't damage us. There isn't any question but what Congress has the constitutional power to tax us to death. They ordinarily don't do that because it would be political suicide. And, those liberal blood suckers want to stay in office. Thus, the "It isn't a tax." rhetoric surrounding the passage of Obamacare. Liars! So now that their massive tax fraud has been unmasked by the court, we voters only have to do what we should have done in the first place. Vote those communists and totalitarian socialists out of office. The radical liberals wanted the court to base its ruling upholding Obamacare on the commerce clause. That would have been an absolute disaster for freedom loving Americans. It would have given the federal government authority to regulate every aspect of American life. After all, modern life is commerce. What commerce of any significance these days is confined within one State's borders? Virtually none. Had the court validated Obamacare based on the authority of the commerce clause, then the federal power over individual Americans would have been unlimited. Thank God that didn't happen! Actually, SCOTUS couldn't have done us a bigger favor vis-a-vis the November election. Had the court ruled Obamacare to be unconstitutional, the single biggest issue tending to bring moderates and independents over to the conservative camp would have been eliminated. If Obamacare had been taken off the table, so to speak, many voters would have thought that the political and economic situation had smoothed itself out, and that conservatives didn't have such a legitimate complaint. As it is, their ox is being gored by this huge new tax, and they will line up at the polls to vote against it. Finally, there is the matter of propriety. Law, and especially tax law, should be made by the legislature. I have decried the years of activist jurisprudence that have seen judges in our appeals courts and SCOTUS erode the Constitution with their infuriatingly liberal social engineering. Now, it would be disingenuous and hypocritical of me to say that SCOTUS should have ruled differently on Obamacare simply because I think it's a terrible law. Terrible laws should be repealed by the legislature, not by the courts. I just heard Romney say that if elected President he would see that Obamacare is repealed on his first day in office. I doubt it could be done so fast, but I appreciate the sentiment, and respect his intentions. Please America, let's give him the chance.
