Abortion; The great lie of our times

January 28, 2013 marked the 25-year anniversary of the Morgentaler Decision. On that day in 1988, the Supreme Court of Canada struck down the few remaining protections still afforded to unborn babies by the 1969 Liberal government’s “Omnibus Bill,” which already permitted abortion under permissive circumstances.

Abortion is the great lie of our times. Both our government and mainstream media have gone to great lengths to hide the fact that abortion is really murder. You will not, for example, hear of any honest political debates centered around the underlying fundamental question as to when life truly begins. For some like President Obama it is above their “pay grade". Nor will you see an actual abortion on TV among all the other gratuitous violence. The reality is too gruesome. Yet it is legally permitted and allowed to flourish - 55 million murdered in the U.S. Since 1973 - in carefully disguised death camps called “women’s reproductive centers”. The reality is that human life begins at conception with the creation of a zygote, the first embryonic stage. This zygote contains the full genetic instructions that will guide the development of the human person through the continuum of stages we call foetus, baby, child, adult, old person. Someday future generations will look back and wonder how and why such a seemingly enlightened society that prided itself on being just, compassionate and diverse, could have been such a proponent of a culture of death.
