Many senior United Nations officials believe that the UN has governance authority on behalf of all “global citizens” that transcends the individual authority of the member states who pay the UN’s bills to govern their own citizens. This arrogance is exposed in a leaked recording of a senior UN official’s reaction to the prospect of another Trump presidency. An undercover reporter from podcaster Steven Crowder’s Mug Club.recorded this senior UN official’s words, which is quoted in a New York Post article.
“I’m not sure the United Nations is going to survive a second term from Donald Trump,” Jorge Paoletti, an associate legal officer at the UN Office of Legal Affairs in New York, told the undercover reporter. Speaking not only for himself but claiming to speak also for his colleagues, this UN legal officer said, “I mean, we are terrified. They’re terrified.”
Why are they terrified at the prospect of Donald Trump returning to the White House? Because Mr. Trump’s “America First” policy could put a stake through the heart of their globalist UN agenda.
“One of the objectives of the UN is to create an identity of a global citizen, someone who shares an identity, a political identity, with everybody on this planet.,” the senior UN legal official explained. He said that this idea “is a threat to the absolute power of the United States because [Americans] don’t want an institution over the US telling the US what to do.”
Mr. Paoletti, the UN senior official, is of the belief that the United States under a Trump administration would disregard a UN environmental edict, for example, that tells countries they “can only reach a certain level of pollution.”
“How do you think all these crazy MAGA people are going to react to that? [Trump will say,] ‘Who are you globalists to tell me, the United States, what I can do?’”
He is right that Mr. Trump would probably say something like that. But the “crazy” people are the power hungry UN bureaucrats who presume that they should have the authority to tell the United States, the largest contributor to the UN by far, what it can and cannot do.
The United States has its own Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, and its own elected officials who represent the American people who elected them. Unelected, unaccountable UN bureaucrats have no authority to govern the people of any member state, much less the United States of America.
The U.S. did not give up its sovereignty when it helped to create the UN right after World War II. Nothing in the UN Charter states that one of the UN’s objectives is to “create an identity of a global citizen” or vests the UN with global governance authority over the people of each member state.
The Biden-Harris administration supports the UN’s globalist agenda and a Harris-Walz administration would almost certainly follow suit. But if Donald Trump is elected president, one of his first priorities should be to order a thorough re-examination of the U.S.’s relationship with the United Nations and a fundamental change to the relationship if America’s best interests warrant.
