CFP’s Planned ‘Getting Out of Dodge’: ‘So Long’, Not ‘Goodbye’

But in the end (God willing!) we will be returning to something I never really left even living so far away—the peace and bracing salt air of the Almighty’s beautiful coastal sea where the stars always shine brightest at night!

CFP’s Planned ‘Getting Out of Dodge’: ‘So Long’, Not ‘Goodbye’For the next two weeks, Canada Free Press will be moving Kit & Caboodle—office and Home Sweet Home—from Ontario to the Maritimes. We will be travelling some 1,700 miles to our final destination. Having avoided the sad word ‘Goodbye” ever since the day when having to leave behind my loved ones when placed in an orphanage at age 9, it’s the one expression transitioned from “Goodbye” to “So Long”, or “See ya later.” The reason for this article today is because after two months between packing and posting, for the next two weeks, there will be too many balls having to be juggled, in the air.

Readers should know that even while out on the road, Canada Free Press comes first. Writing, editing and posting will continue through the entire 1,700-mile journey. Our phone numbers and emails remain the same. We are saying “So Long”, not “Goodbye” to the friends we will surely miss in the small Ontario town, where we have lived for the last 10 years, Ralph, Margaret, Debbie & Joe, Terry & Virginia, Beverly, including the culture-cancelled Catholic priest that Judi proudly considers her “best friend”. Please all remember that we are really only a telephone call or an email away. All of our online American friends, far too many to mention, but certainly Kathie in Florida, Cathy in South Carolina, Barbara in North Carolina, like CFP’s many regular columnists and Queen of Comments remain with us, now and forever. This, of course, includes thousands of readers who still manage to find CFP online, in spite of intense Google harassment and suppression. This trip we jokingly call “Getting out of Dodge” would never have been possible without the kindness, encouragement and humor of Christian Floridians Doug and wife, Katherine.

Doug and Katherine we would never have made it without YOU! Dearest Susan, please continue stopping by the abandoned Fatima Grotto I so much loved when still living here. Leaving one place for another far away is always a race against time, and tinged with some sadness. But in the end (God willing!) we will be returning to something I never really left even living so far away—the peace and bracing salt air of the Almighty’s beautiful coastal sea where the stars always shine brightest at night! To dear friends, here in town and so many online, remember during the last leg of this trip, it’s only ‘So Long’ and NEVER ‘Goodbye’.
