Charitable agencies donating to political campaigns

As a matter of principle, it does not make any sense at all to allow any charitable agency that receives public money to donate to political campaigns. When they do so, taxpayer money is being used for the benefit of a candidate.

The argument that some of the money comes from private donors makes no difference. If you have money left over after funding your programs, it is probable that wouldn't be the case without the public dollars. If it you are that well run, start a new program, start a rainy day fund, or donate to another charity. Taking taxpayer money and then donating to select campaigns is ridiculous, unsavory and ought to be illegal. Michael Chandler Englewood, FL
