Excessive government intervention and manipulation of our lives

If you want to control a people, what better way than to shackle them to the government. Here in the United States, 50% are beholden to the government for food, medical, phone, and in many cases, their very spending money thanks to earned income tax credits that result in large tax refunds even when little or no taxes are paid.

Now, let’s look at the other 50%. Some work for bailed out automakers, some work for subsidized green businesses, some work for subsidized farms, some work for government supported unions and a large percent are actually employed by the various government entities. So, how many of the above, makers and takers, are likely to bite the hand that feeds them? Our government has a figurative pistol to our heads. We are as enslaved as any servant has ever been. It is past time for us to rise up and reclaim our place – as the head of the country and not the other end. We are the one who are supposed to be in charge. They work for US. If we are tired of excessive government intervention and manipulation of our lives, we have but one choice - to fire them. John Libby Englewood, FL
